A mixture of serendipity, willingness to try out new things, seeking knowledge, listening to people and great clients meant we were out with our first online intervention before the end of March!
The Check in Circle
The Bullzi ‘Check in Circles’ were up and running from the 28th of March. This was a program specifically designed to help people share their concerns, coping strategies and agree on ways of working in the forced reality of WFH. These were designed for the online world. An unintended, but happy consequence was many clients, especially the HR teams, realising that it was possible to run facilitated learning sessions online! Between the 3 facilitators, we covered over 600 people in our programmes across 7 organisations and a couple of open programs.
Leadership In The Covid Era
We had been hearing from our clients and in our Check in Circles the challenges posed by operating virtually, particularly for leadership. From an ‘every action is visible in team’ to ‘having to trust the person in shorts on the screen’ is a big change in leadership paradigm.
We ran a large survey across social media platforms covering for profit and not for profit organisations, large and small.
We used those findings and our earlier knowledge (this is where serendipity features) to design a multi modular program for young and emerging leaders.
Serendipity because we had been working closely with a client to help transform their organisation to a more virtual avatar since the middle of 2019. We had already developed a set of individual competencies for the virtual worker and process/cultural frames to catalyse the process.
Partnerships and Collaborations
Psychometric for the times
Bullzi has already set up future facing partnerships and is looking at more such possibilities. In these times when Resilience, Empathy, Positivity are important attributes to possess, we found in Nuvah a psychometric measure and presentation of these important attributes. Bullzi has a collaboration with Nuvah that is a win win all the way around – users get a cutting edge and relevant assessment within the context of a leadership development conversation with bullzi. All of this at prices that would otherwise not have been available.
Scenario Planning
Another emerging need is for organisations to be able to see beyond the fog of the current uncertainty. There is an understanding that the Covid Era is changing many things for ever, catalysing others and may have some impact on the rest. How does one plan to capitalise on these and mitigate the risks of things that could emerge? The traditional ways of planning that rely on past data to predict the future are really ineffective in this situation. Sanjeev Roy, along with a few others founded an online group of Scenario Planning enthusiasts. They call themselves Future Forward. They set out to look at the driving forces of the future and its impact. The first paper was published as a full page article in the Mint. There is now an Ebook on the anvil.
Bullzi has used Scenario Planning for itself and many of these responses and strategies are a result of that process.
