141 Sercon gets a new consultant

Once again, I pray Ajit Narayan gets his comfort zone.

He joined Wundermann in August 2006 and immediately took over the bread-and-butter Microsoft account. The news of his shift comes as a bit of a surprise for Wundermann considering that in barely two quarters, Ajit takes a consulting role in Sercon, reporting to MD, Vijay Singh and director Rajesh Ghatge.

In his words, his move was “sheer coincidence”. That’s a fresh one.

This makes me think. When does a professional with such skill move from cushy leather to consulting. Consulting is a mean business, never an easy task selling your wares by the hour / month.     hey! surprise! didn’t know you had a blog! consulting in advertising biz means taking time out! not hard selling wares! i am actually have fun. able to think more clearly and also able to deliver big bang stuff! also the learning through self discovery never stops… maybe every professional needs to plan a time out stint! abroad they do sabbaticals to rev the imagination and sagging spirit!

    He probably knows his stregths and limitations better. One of the largest career consultants of their time, Morgan and Banks have expressed the view giving practical examples on how every great player does not become a coach and vice- versa. Don’t we have a live case in former australian cricket coach John Buchchanan who has not even played international cricket? No former Indian player has been considered or the last 6-7 years.

    My own father turned around a small sick company and preferred to stay there and refused to go back to the bigger company despite the chairman calling him back for twenty years. He chose to be a big fish in a small pond instead of vice- versa becasue he says ” The chairman only knows my strengths, not my weaknesses”. To each his own.
